CNC Operator

Tuesday-Friday 6:00 A.M to 5:00 P.M.

JOB SUMMARY The CNC Operator will operate all CNC equipment in the production of products. The CNC Operator will set up and operate the machine tools to specifications as directed by the Machinery/Fab Machining Supervisor, and be responsible for basic maintenance. CNC Operator will also routinely clean his/her own area according to the standard set by supervisor. When not operating the CNC equipment, this employee will operate various machines and use various types of hand tools in the fabrication of parts or assemblies of products in accordance with request by supervisor. This employee will also be required to do any and all tasks deemed necessary by his/her supervisor for the safe and efficient operation of the company. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS This position requires the following minimum qualifications: Vo-Tech Training in CNC operation or equal experience; driver’s license; must be a self-starter and must be able to work under pressure; knowledge in the areas of CNC equipment, manual lathes, mills, and other equipment, assembly, parts, quality control, and safety; must be able to read and evaluate drawing and product specifications requirements, and/or operation procedures; ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively to the extent required by the position; ability to effectively and cooperatively work with other people both in and outside the company; strong analytical skills to the extent required by the position; ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide to the extent required by the position; ability to speak, write and understand English; must be familiar and comfortable with various machines/equipment/tools and must have strong general mechanical skills; and must be able to meet the working conditions and physical demands identified below. WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS Production floor/welding area environments; frequent exposure to noise, heat, welding fumes, dust, and hazardous chemicals. For full-time employees the work day may either be four 10-hour days per week or five 8-hour days per week as assigned by the supervisor. The position requires the employee possess all body senses, which may include the ability to distinguish colors. Must be able to work in the production floor/welding area environment identified above. Must be able to walk, sit, stand, bend, reach, and carry throughout the shifts described above. Must be able to consistently lift 80 lbs. from a floor or table position to chest high using a proper lifting technique and repetitively use arms, hands, and fingers in the manipulation of parts. Must demonstrate good hand/eye coordination and demonstrate good manual dexterity. Must be able to stand for the length of the shifts described above.
