Woods Powr-Grip A Breath of Fresh Air: P11104AIRS Vacuum Lifter

A Breath of Fresh Air: P11104AIRS Vacuum Lifter

by David Peters For years, the Wood's Powr-Grip® DC-powered P1 Channel Lifter has been one of our top selling below-the-hook vacuum lifters. Recently, as a request for a specialized customer application, Wood's Powr-Grip designed a power system to accommodate a compressed air power source. The result: Wood's Powr-Grip announces the P11104AIRS, now offered as an Alternative Power System for our standard P11104DC vacuum lifter. Using compressed air as the power source, this vacuum lifter employs a venturi-type vacuum pump that allows it to attach 3 times faster than our standard AC or DC versions of the P1 Channel Lifter. Built to excel in a manufacturing or fabrication shop environment, this translates to quicker cycle times and greater productivity on the shop floor. The P11104AIRS vacuum lifter provides the versatility of manual 180° rotation and manual 90° tilt movements. Due to its venturi-based power system, the P11104AIRS is less susceptible than other P1 vacuum lifters to contamination from sources commonly found in manufacturing environments. It is also capable of operating at temperatures from 0° to 120° F [-18° to 49° C] and at elevations up to 10,000 feet [3048 meters], allowing for use in a broader range of workplace environments. In addition to its versatility, the venturi of the P11104AIRS has no moving parts to wear or require lubrication, thus offering an enhanced service life. Designed for use with a crane or overhead hoisting system, the new air-powered P1 Channel Lifter is slightly lighter than the DC-powered lifters, weighing in at just 57 lbs. [26 kg] as compared to the 70 lbs [32 kg] of the DC version. This lighter weight makes the P11104AIRS easier for the operator to manipulate and effectively extends the load capacity of the hoisting equipment. A wide range of features that customers have come to appreciate is also standard on the P11104AIRS:
  • A vacuum gauge allows the operator to monitor vacuum levels and ensure that vacuum is sufficient for lifting loads.
  • A vacuum line filter prevents dirt and particulate from compromising the vacuum system.
  • A vacuum check valve helps prevent immediate load release in case of power failure.
  • A vacuum reserve tank is designed to extend the time that the vacuum lifter can retain a load during a power failure.
All in all, the P11104AIRS is a capable addition to the legendary line-up of below-the-hook vacuum lifters manufactured by Wood's Powr-Grip. For additional information contact the Wood's Powr-Grip Authorized Dealer nearest you.
