Wood's Powr-Grip is always searching for ways to improve its products, to provide the very best user experience possible. Some are minor tweaks, such as a bolt here or a nut there. Others include dramatic overhauls to accommodate our customers' needs.
Recently, one such minor improvement has taken place. There was an issue regarding a 9-inch, lipped pad that was supplied with a certain number of glass lifters. WPG'[s research and development team set out to design and produce a replacement that would be better suited for the job.
Introducing the model VPFS9 (stock #49506TA). This new vacuum pad was produced without the lipped edge of its predecessor and proved to be less prone to damage during demanding vacuum lifter use. Since the VPFS9 vacuum pad is constructed without the lipped edge, it also eliminates the possibility of lip roll all together. When all the data and research was in, as an added bonus, the new 9-inch vacuum pad was found to attach and release loads significantly faster than the lipped pad. This should help boost your bottom line by increasing productivity in the shop or on the job site.
If you have a Wood's Powr-Grip vacuum lifter that is currently equipped with the old G0725L 9-inch, lipped pads, please plan accordingly for your next pad replacement. When you need to replace a vacuum pad, it will be necessary to replace all the pads on the lifter, to make sure that they are all the same. Failure to replace all of the vacuum pads will compromise the performance of your vacuum lifter. The good news is that the new 9-inch vacuum pad is virtually the same price as the old pad, so replacement with the new, faster acting pad isn't going to cost you extra.
